Dr Graham’s Homes

Christian missionaries played a crucial role in Kalimpong’s rapid growth into an important town. Among them was Dr. J. A. Graham, a Scottish missionary who arrived in Kalimpong with a mission to spread Christianity.

Over time, his focus shifted to education, leading to the establishment of St. Andrews Colonial Homes in 1900—an orphanage and school for Anglo-Indian children. A walking tour of the institution is a captivating experience, offering breathtaking views of the town and the Teesta River valley.
